When you are imagining your new home, you want everything to look perfect and to look exactly like you have pictured it. Sometimes, it is a tad impossible to replicate it in real life, but when both ends, the owners and interiors designers, have perfect communication, magic happens. It’s one thing to dream about your perfect luxury home, but it’s another thing altogether when that reality becomes clouded in practical matters.
Visions of grandeur are all well and good until it comes to putting pen to paper. For one Melbourne couple, Lazaros and Nicole Papasavas, their challenge lay in the size of their block. They wanted a contemporary home big enough for their two children, plus a backyard that fit a pool and enough space to entertain and Rob Mills Architects made their wish come true. A 500-square-meter plot of land in inner-city Toorak, filled with the latest interior design trends, incredibly magnificent colours and art furniture, this abode truly is a masterpiece.
The entire interior design project had the hands of a dram team, Mills and his team transformed the space into a multi-level home complete with four bedrooms, three ensuites, a basement garage, pool and deck area, and even a rooftop terrace. Then, there was Paul Bangay, who took care of the surrounding landscape and De Natris Skurrie, who wrapped everything up with their incredible ideas for the furniture design.
“For me it was finding the balance between creating something that is vibrant and luxurious, as well as liveable and timeless. The client was brave in their desire for color in the interior and we carefully built a rich but neutral base palette full of honest natural materials to ground the interior.” – says Chloe Skurrie from De Natris Skurrie about this luxury home.
The owners themselves had a big role in this luxury home, not only about the amazing tips and ideas they had that entirely helped everyone involved in it but because every single time that a custom made furnishing arrived, they reviewed it with enthusiasm and saw if it met their expectations. It avoided making the home design project going slow and create synergy between all parties.
The colour palette of this modern home isn’t crazy-like but it is the contrast between the whites, blacks, and golds that really accentuate the colours used in different divisions. The style is sophisticated and extremely contemporary, the attention to detail is marvellous and utterly inspiring and Inspiration and Ideas thinks it’s safe to safe that this was a dream come true for the owners Lazaros and Nicole Papasavas.
