When real estate developer Ted Foxman first purchased this massive private residence in Bel Air, his intention was to transform it into an accommodating home for his family while maintaining a sense of grandeur this property so desperately needed. To help him achieve such a feat, he enlisted top interior designer Lonni Paul, whose work spans from celebrity clients such as Susan and Robert Downey Jr. to Guiliana and Bill Rancic.
With its impressive four acres overlooking the expansive Pacific Ocean, eight bedrooms, and 12 bathrooms, the private residence is filled with just about every amenity one could desire in a luxury home. There’s a screening room, wine room, game room, and two formal living rooms.
Once outside you’ll find an Olympic-size pool, basketball court, tennis court, batting cage, two fire pits, an outdoor barbecue complete with a bar, a dining space with seating for 20, and even a helicopter pad. While it’s suitable for entertaining a growing family it can just as easily accommodate large parties both indoors and outdoors.
She introduced to the private residence‘s interior design, a slew of unexpected moments, like a powder room sheathed in wallpaper with a bird motif along with a dining room awash in navy hues.
The kitchen design is punctuated by sophisticated pops of blue: a backsplash in Walker Zanger tiles adds contrast to the crisp whites in the space, while seating upholstered in a Romo for Thomas Lavin mohair velvet offers the perfect dose of luxury design.
The top interior designer also encouraged Foxman to embrace the fun that can come along with the typically stressful design process. How? A vintage Porsche in the middle of the entryway. Once again, bringing this private residence to a whole new level.
Lonni Paul notes that for her, the best part of working on this private residence, was to feel like every room has its own story and vibe:
“I just love the fact that every room you enter has something different,” she says. “Usually the homes I design have a line of continuum in them, but with this one, you actually feel like you’re in a different destination in each of the different areas and that’s what makes it so much fun.”
