AD Show 2019, took place during the past 21st to the 24th of this month in New York. Considered a real inspirational place and sourcing platform for years for New York interior designers, find out the best pieces and interior design trends exhibited at AD Show, which you should definitely remember.
The pendant lighting Phase Chandelier by Anony borrows lightness and grace of suspended mobiles. Alternatively showing different stages and formal appearances of the circle – a sphere, a disc and a melted semi-circle – this airy and handmade graphic suspension seems to have found the perfect balance. Thanks to these geometric shapes, the light swing of the luminaire is harmonious and its presence is highly poetic.
Offering a curated selection of furniture design in multiple styles that enhanced the different brands’ identity, such as Boca do Lobo, Brabbu, Luxxu, and Pullcast. The booth combined all the brands and the feedback was extremely positive due to its creativity and uniqueness in the world of design.
Design studio durodeco, composed of architect Rachel Robinson and engineer Michael Dunham, creates furniture and decorative objects of a timeless style. At the AD Show 2019, the duo presented the Strata mirror and table and the modular low tables Radius. The Strata table is a beautiful piece and displays a strong contrast between black wood legs and two tiered layers of acid-etched, ultraclear glass.
The collection Black Arts of designer Nicholas Hamilton Holmes is the result of woodworking in different forms and formal applications. All of them are tinted in a deep black, and each piece results in pure and effective functionality.
Kin and Company
Just like the latest edition of the AD Show, it was impossible to miss out on the work of studio Kin and Company. It is on a stand adorned with an iridescent wallpaper of Wallpaper Projects giving it cool depth, that the designers presented their latest creation: the Slip Mirror in peach, the extraordinary Thin Shelf (single and double) and the coffee table Wave. All are part of the Spring collection, which began at the fair. Each element that composes it highlights simple geometric shapes and a minimalist design, whose American designers knew how to make the most of rich textured surfaces.
Michael Felix comes from the third generation of designers, and whose mastery of traditional manufacturing techniques is today worth it to innovate. Showcased at this edition of the AD Show, the coffee table Gaspar shows a feat both in terms of design and implementation. Composed of two granite elements at the perfect junction, this piece has a strong and singular design that does not forget the functional aspect, allowing to be able to store objects and magazines inside.
Among the new exhibitors of the AD Show, there was also Ocrùm, a young New York brand with a simple and delicate aesthetic. We particularly appreciate the mirrors Orizon in two shades and two materials. We also notice the presence of the very light ceiling lamp Dew + Drop, of which touching fragility contributes to the effectiveness of the design.
Simon Johns presented two new pieces: the Shale Mirror, but also the Ledge Console. Both made from solid ash wood carved and broken in order to obtain this raw aspect, like broken stone. The Diamond Table is also a novelty brought to the AD Show 2019, the first table of the designer, it displays a base at the sculptural design made of polished aluminium and oak wood.
VOLK Studio presented a mix of products from the 2017 and 2018 collections. A collection with an approach to contemporary design peaceful but sparkling, to which the designer Brian Volk-Zimmerman has been able to give accents of elegance all in simplicity.
